Residents of two apartments were displaced by outdoor fires that spread Saturday in Spring Valley.
The fire was reported at about 9 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Grand Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and firefighters saw two rear patios of the building engulfed in flames so they evacuated the building’s residents, while crews put out the flames, officials said.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help residents of the two apartments, officials said.
The sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit was investigating. Firefighters from the San Miguel Fire District, along with the San Diego, National City and Heartland fire departments also responded.
