(WSPA) - Did you feel it? An earthquake originating in east Tennessee early Saturday morning was felt by residents as far away as Atlanta.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was reported at around 9:05 a.m. Saturday, south of Knoxville. The earthquake was strong enough to be felt, but not likely to cause much damage.
According to tools provided by USGS, including reports from residents, shaking from the earthquake could be felt for miles away. Multiple visitors to the USGS website have reported shaking across western North Carolina and down into parts of the Upstate.
Reports of shakes have also come in from as far north as the border of Tennessee and Kentucky and as far south as Atlanta. Viewers have called Queen City News from Charlotte and Mount Holly to say they have also felt something that could've been an earthquake.
