AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was injured following a shooting involving police officers shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday in north Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.
APD said the incident occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. in the 800 block of E. Braker Lane following a traffic stop. A man, woman and child were inside the vehicle at the time of the stop, according to police.
APD said during a pat down of the man, he tried to turn away and reach for a weapon, resulting in the officers firing shots. The man was taken to the hospital following the shooting, according to APD. The woman and child were not injured.
