Singer Kelly Clarkson isn't overly focused on her dating life!
People magazine reported that Clarkson said while she is interested in finding love again, it's not her priority during the May 6 episode of TODAY with Jenna & Friends. She explained that she is more focused on her career and her children, Remington and Rose, fathered by her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
"I will say, I'm not not looking. And I'm not looking. I'm very busy and, you'll get this as a mom, I've got to focus right now, so there's a lot of work. Plus my kids schedule, I feel like is busier than mine. I'm running from my show to baseball practice," said Clarkson during the interview.
Clarkson clarified that she plans to spend time away from her children to feel more like an adult.
"I am just trying to be there as much for them [as possible] and we’re a cute little unit. I am trying to adult more. So for Mother’s Day weekend I do have a couple shows, but my kids aren’t coming. So I do get to be an adult with my band having drinks and having adult time," said Clarkson on the TODAY with Jenna & Friends episode.
Clarkson shared she isn't too keen about dating in a July 2024 interview with Access Hollywood. She explained she "get[s] nervous on dates" and will often act awkward around individuals who she is attached to.
"This is why I don't date. I'm literally a walking sad rom-com I say inappropriate things. I'm so normal and then I get around anybody who I think is attractive and I'm like, 'Gah.' I don't know what's wrong. So I'm single," said Clarkson to the publication.
Clarkson, who finalized her divorce from Blackstock in 2022, said she does enjoy being single.
"You know what? Single is super fun," said Clarkson during the Access Hollywood interview.
