A suspect has been arrested in a decades-old murder.
Officers from the San Diego Police Department responded to 1933 Harrison Ave. on Nov. 10, 1976, at 5:40 p.m., to find a dead man with trauma to his upper body.
The dead man was later identified as Leo Marquina.
The investigation eventually went cold, until it was reopened in 2022.
Homicide detectives worked in cooperation with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office Cold Case Unit to re-follow leads and re-examine physical evidence collected from the original crime scene.
Hernandez was arraigned Monday.
