RuPaul'sDrag Race Season 4 star Jiggly Caliente has died at the age of 44. Caliente, whose real name is Bianca Castro-Arabejo, died on April 27
"A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world," Caliente's family said in a statement shared on Instagram.
"Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light. Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered," the statement continued.
Dozens of Caliente's colleagues, friends and fans took to the comments section of the post to share their condolences.
"So heartbreaking. Such a kind, caring soul!! She will be greatly missed," one comment read.
"Love and light to family and friends. I love you Jiggly. Thank you for so many laughs," another Instagram user wrote.
"One of the most kindest, sweetest souls I’ve ever met. I’m gonna miss you beautiful. Thank you for always being so lovely. Rest easy legend. Sending your family so much love right now," someone else added.
Caliente's death comes just days after her family shared an important health update. She suffered a "severe infection" that required hospitalization — and the amputation of her right leg, according to the update, which was shared on Instagram on April 24. Her family said that her recovery would be "extensive."
Due to her health condition, Caliente was forced to cancel her appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race Philippines.
