AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police are investigating a homicide after a Friday night disturbance in the 500 block of East Rundberg Lane, according to an APD public information officer Saturday morning.
The officer told KXAN that APD officers first arrived at the scene around 11:30 p.m.
Those officers found a Black woman with "obvious signs of trauma." Responders attempted life-saving medical care and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

"We don't know the information about the victim or the suspect information, so it's too early to say," the officer said. "But it did happen in the woods at an encampment."
