Mills softball player Hailey Pedroza is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for April 14-19.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Pedroza finished with 38.34% of the vote. Emery softball player Alejandra Solano Solis took second with 22.4%, and San Leandro softball player Julianna Morales finished third with 15.29%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Pedroza pitched a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Gunn, striking out five batters and walking just one. The junior added another shutout in an 11-0 win over Mercy, allowing four hits and striking out six.
