Acciona to build 330km-long Peru power line
Spain’s Acciona has won a €250m design, financing, construction, operation and 30-year maintenance contract for a 330km-long 220kV power line in southern Peru.

The company will build two new substations in Quencoro Nueva and Onocora, as well as expanding three substations in Suriray, Quencoro and Tintaya Nueva. The line will have a 300MVA capacity.

Due to start transmitting in 2028, the line will bring electricity to the city of Cusco, where demand exceeds supply, and improve the reliability of existing transmission lines in the region.

The concession agreement for the Machupichu-Quencoro-Onocora-Tintaya transmission line has been signed with private equity group Darby International Capital.
