The picture, which was shared on social media on April 18, showed Rusty, 3, in a hospital room with a medical bracelet on his wrist.

“Bye bye tonsils!! Just like his brothers!” the NBC meteorologist wrote in the photo’s caption, but fans were worried nonetheless, commenting “Prayers for speedy healing Rusty.”

“Hi Rusty. I got so scared, and then I read it was only your tonsils. I’m glad. That’s nothing. Everyone has them out,” wrote another fan.
One day later, Dreyer took to Instagram again to share pictures of “Easter Eve bunny pancakes,” proudly declaring that it was “An experiment that ended up working out!”

The third and fourth slides in the carousel showed Rusty with his big brothers, Calvin, 8, and Oliver, 5, in the kitchen, posing with the bunny pancakes.
Fans flocked to the comments to ask how Rusty was feeling post-surgery, and Dreyer gave an update about his current status after one fan asked about the typically smiling boy’s more subdued demeanor in the pictures.
