Punjab Kings suffered a massive blow amid the ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Skipper Shreyas Iyer walked off the field after being unwell at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer didn't look in great shape while fielding during the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The right-hander didn't look as proactive as he had looked in the rest of the games, and ultimately walked off the field after the powerplay of the second innings.
It made many speculate as to why skipper Shreyas Iyer walked off the field before a commentator mentioned that the batter was not feeling well and, hence, walked back. This also made many confused as to who acquired charge of the team for the rest of the match.
However, it is learned that Marcus Stoinis has been given the responsibility, and he will be leading the team till the time Shreyas Iyer is off the field.
