A man was shot and killed in a Van Nuys parking lot early Saturday morning, April 19, police said.
Officers responded to the 16000 block of Vanowen Street near the intersection of Woodley Avenue, where they found a man in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound, LAPD Officer David Cuellar said.
The victim had been standing outside his vehicle when two people approached. One of them shot the man before both fled in a black Honda Accord.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the shooter and the other person and a potential motive is not yet known, but police do not believe the crime to be gang related, Cuellar said.
