A 33-year-old Oakland man is dead following a shooting early Saturday morning in the uptown district of Oakland.
The incident happened around 12:40 a.m. in the 500 block of 18th Street. Police said the shooting happened outside, and the victim was taken by another person to the hospital where he died.
His name hasn’t been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the victim was an Oakland resident but lived in another part of the city
Investigators don’t have a motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made. No suspect information has been released.
This year marks the 26 homicide in the city. Last year around this time police investigated 24 homicides by the city.
