SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A car ignited in flames and caused four eastbound lanes of San Francisco's Bay Bridge to be blocked off Tuesday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol officers wrote at 2:30 p.m. on X, "A car fire currently has the #1 thru #4 lanes currently blocked on I-80. Please be patient and drive safely."
Firefighters, Caltrans crews, and the CHP are currently attempting to clear the heavily traveled bridge and reopen lanes for motorists.
