Man linked to two Chester County shootings identified, captured in Charlotte ...Middle East

GREAT FALLS, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A man connected to two separate weekend shootings in the Great Falls area is now in custody after being captured in Charlotte, authorities confirmed.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ronrico “Rico” Lamont Mccullough Jr., 18, was taken into custody on Saturday night, just hours after two back-to-back shootings left one person dead and two others injured.

Deputies said the incidents happened within minutes of each other — first on McClinton Road around 6:48 p.m., and then on Ridgeway Road around 7:14 p.m.

According to investigators, one person was shot and injured at the McClinton Road scene and was taken to the hospital. Over on Ridgeway Road, deputies found two more victims, one was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.

With quick coordination between local and regional law enforcement, Mccullough was identified as the suspect and tracked down across state lines. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police assisted Chester County deputies in locating and arresting him in Charlotte later that evening.

As of now, Mccullough faces at least one charge of attempted murder, but officials said more charges are expected as the investigation unfolds.

Our Office is actively going through the extradition process with North Carolina authorities in aneffort to return Mccullough to Chester County, South Carolina as quickly as possible in order toface charges related to the multiple crimes he committed on April 12th, 2025.
