NORTH CAROLINA (PINPOINT WEATHER) -- We’re cold and chilly this Thursday morning with temperatures sitting in the 30s and 40s ahead of a 6:58 a.m. sunrise. Winds are light to start but will be breezy as we head into the afternoon.

Thursday will be partly cloudy and comfortable before rain and storms roll in the evening. Look for highs to make a run for the mid to upper 60s as clouds build throughout the day.
An approaching low-pressure system will track towards the Carolinas, which will usher in the wet weather Thursday evening.
Look for the showers and storms to start in our mountain counties mid-afternoon before tracking south towards the Queen City. Look for the main impacts to arrive around 5 PM and linger into the evening hours.
Tonight will be cool and chilly, dipping into the low 50s before rebounding into the upper 60s on Friday. We’ll hold on to a few showers and storms Friday before clearing out in time for the weekend.
We’ll be in for a beautiful weekend as the 60s lock in under mostly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday, and overnight lows dip into the 40s and 30s.
70s returns to kick off early next week, as we’ll be dry on Monday. Low rain chances move in Tuesday with a cold front, but not before highs touch 80 degrees for the second day of the work week. We’ll be dry and slightly below normal by Wednesday, with highs limited to the upper 60s.
