The pair discussed a recent plea from Ariana Grande to have studios and record labels bake a therapy clause into their contracts for young stars. "She argues that mental health support should be a non-negotiable part of the deal," Barrymore explained, "to ensure that emerging talents have the resources they need to navigate the pressures of fame."

"I mean, I finally went to Bonnie by the time I turned 20 and said, 'I'm struggling,'" the actress admitted. "And she could see that I was struggling."
The more seasoned actress, who died in 2013, sent her television daughter "to a psychiatrist." While Bertinelli didn't dig too deeply about her state of mind at the time, it was clear that Franklin's aid was both necessary and well-received.
"I think that people need that support," Bertinelli affirmed. "Absolutely."
