MOUNTAIN VIEW – A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday morning in Mountain View, according to authorities.

The pedestrian, a 73-year-old Mountain View resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the pedestrian’s identity after it is confirmed and their next of kin is notified.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police department’s investigation into the collision. Police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor.
