The city of Chula Vista’s Cultural Arts Commission is now accepting applications for the 2025 Ambassador Program with its sister city, Odawara, Japan.
Four Chula Vista residents between the ages of 18 and 28 will be selected to represent the city in Odawara, where they will stay with a host family, and in return, they will host the selected Odawara students during their visit to Chula Vista.
Candidates must be Chula Vista residents who are either in college, college-bound or young professionals, according to the city. The Cultural Arts Commission offers a travel stipend of up to $1,000 to help cover airfare.
A sister city is an officially approved, long-term partnership designed to foster diverse activities and cultural exchange, primarily involving local government, business and citizen volunteers.
Applications are available online and must be submitted by 5 p.m. April 13, 2025.
