Shafaq News/ A major American tradedelegation comprising more than 100 representatives from nearly 60 US companiesarrived in Iraq on Monday, the US Embassy in Baghdad announced.
“This is the first Chamber ofCommerce-certified trade mission to Iraq and the largest in the Chamber’shistory,” the embassy said.
The three-day visit, from April 7 to 9,will include meetings with senior Iraqi officials, discussions with Iraqibusinesses, and the signing of multiple agreements.
As part of the visit, the US Chambersigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federation of IraqiChambers of Commerce to support cooperation between both countries’ privatesectors.
The visit comes days after PresidentDonald Trump announced a broad set of tariffs on US trading partners includingIraq, saying the move is a “declaration of economic independence.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce signed a pivotal memorandum of understanding to strengthen ties between the US and Iraqi private sectors. This partnership will foster long-term economic collaboration.
