There are mixed messages about aging. On one hand, we've been told that wrinkles, looser skin, gray hair and any other sign of life's natural progression are something to hide. On the other hand, the calls to embrace this process—needed as they are—can leave you feeling shame for searching for solutions to help you look your best.
Around here, we feel there's a middle ground—and it's whatever has you feeling your best. It's true that beauty comes from the inside and is more than skin deep. However, what that means to you may be different than someone else. We've got your back if you're searching for products that'll help you look fabulous as you add birthday candles to your cake. Our editors hand-tested hundreds of skin, hair and nail care products, from makeup to moisturizers and tools of the trade. We also spoke with makeup artists, dermatologists and other professionals to pull back the curtain on ingredients and products. We can now confidently bring you the best 50 beauty products for people 50+.
We know how personal hair, skin and nails are, especially when your body changes. So, we wanted to ensure our "Better Than Ever Beauty Awards" was golden—the product of a meticulous process that dug deeper than reading other people's website reviews. It began with an open call for nominations from leading, trusted brands and retailers. We wanted to know: What products do your customers swear by? Which ones are your top and repeat sellers (because there's no endorsement like a long-term customer)? What are the newest products coming out, and ones that deliver results?
To ensure the products met objectivity standards, we consulted a team of respected dermatologists, aestheticians and celebrity makeup artists to pinpoint the ingredients, technologies and tools needed to support maturing skin.
Then, we turned inward and had a panel of seasoned beauty editors hand-test each product for four weeks. Again, beauty is personal, and we wouldn't want to bring you anything other than products we could confidently say helped us meet our goals. Our editors monitored and evaluated each product based on visible results, texture, application and overall performance. Finally, we looked at scientific backing for the purported benefits, expert recommendations and value for money.
The results you see below are our final selections, made through a collaborative process that combines all of the above (editor evaluation and scientific and expert insights). Only the best products made our squad. These are the Better Than Ever All-Stars for hair, skin and nails that'll let your version of "best" shine through.
Makeup
Makeup offers a chance to play with your look—polished or sultry? Colorful or muted? The adventure is up to you, but you'll want the toys and tools that let you meet the moment. These are the mature makeup must-haves, from one editor's holy-grail line to products that provide all-day coverage.
Best Natural Products Line: Bare Minerals
Bare Minerals
As in diet, the buzzword "natural" doesn't always guarantee "results." However, Bare Minerals's clean, vegan products consistently deliver, including fan-favorites like the skin-improving Loose Mineral Foundation and Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer with hyaluronic acid and SPF 30. The latter is the top-selling tinted moisturizer in the U.S. Parade's Executive Lifestyle Editor, Meghann Foye, says she can see why people adore the Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer and the rest of Bare Minerals' makeup. "Bare Minerals is a holy-grail product line for a reason," Foye says. "I am not a fan of lipstick, but its dewy lip gloss balm has the perfect barely there tint with plenty of hydration."
Best Stay-All-Day Makeup: Almay
Almay
Life gets in the way of touch-ups, so always-on-the-go types benefit from a set-it-and-forget-it makeup. Of course, part of that is finding makeup that doesn't worsen or trigger skin irritation. Foye explains that her skin has become more sensitive and allergy-prone as she's gotten older, and someone recommended she try Almay's doctor-tested, hypoallergenic, cruelty-free line. "It did not disappoint," Foye says. "The line has specific long-lasting and all-day products, but I found all [of them]...long-wearing." Almay Ageless Smart Shade Foundation color-matched her skin tone, and the Color & Care adjusted to her pH balance to provide "just the right amount of color" to lips and cheeks. Foye is as wary of mascara as she is of lipstick, saying 95% make her tear up. "But the Almay Thickening & Tint Mascara gave a natural amount of volume, stayed put all day and didn’t have any allergic effect," Foye raves. "I’ll be using this brand from here on out." We'd be remiss if we forgot to mention that most Almay products are under $20.
Best Eyeliner Pencil: NYX Epic Smoke Liner
NYX
You may bat several eyelashes at the time it takes to achieve the "effortless" smoky eye. Who has that kind of bandwidth? However, the NFX Epic Smoke Liner is dreamy for mature skin types with little time to get through a three-minute TikTok tutorial courtesy of an all-in-one liner and paddle brush that lifts and diffuses in less time than it takes to blink. "This has been my new go-to eyeliner because of the unique angled tip. It makes it much easier to apply evenly, especially on top lids," Mary Hawkins, the executive editor of Parade's Lifestyle Group. Hawkins also double-taps that NYX is cruelty-free. Brielle Pollara, a celebrity makeup and licensed esthetician, previously said "bravo" to NYX's Epic Ink Vegan Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner for similar reasons. Pollara recommends it to her clients (including several Real Housewives stars) for its formula that lasts all day without settling into wrinkles, something high-definition TV viewers can easily pick up).
Best Liquid Eyeliner: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Micro Tip
Amazon
Eyeliner application skills don't necessarily come with age. You need very few when using Stila's Stay all-Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Micro Tip. The reason is in the title. "This has a micro-fine felt tip that allows you to create the thinnest of lines, which is often what older clients prefer for a more natural definition,” Head of Artistry and Global Beauty Director for Stila Cosmetics, Charlie Riddle, who has worked with Dixie D'amelio and Ice Spice, told Parade in January. “I also love this liner to paint the lashes for any gaps you may miss at the root when applying mascara. It also won’t move until removed, so it won’t transfer under eyes or onto hooded lids.”
Best Brow Pencil: NYX Micro Brow Pencil
NYX
Adding definition to brows requires a delicate balance—a little too much is way obvious. When Hawkins wants to add natural-looking definition to her brows, she reaches for NYX's Micro Brow Pencil. "This brow pencil has a brush on one end and pencil on the other, so it's easy to smooth things out before applying the pencil," Hawkins says. "I have blonde hair, and this pencil comes in a few different lighter colors, so it looks more natural and avoids that 'painted-on' eyebrow look."
Highlighters
A lifetime of late nights—from caring for loved ones to burning the midnight oil on your way up the career ladder—can leave eyes and skin looking tired and weary. You deserve a daily glow-up for all that time well spent. These primers, highlighters, bronzers and more will leave your skin looking sunkissed even when it's raining.
Best Primer: Revlon Illuminance Protect + Moisturize Primer SPF
Revlon
A good primer is a secret weapon for preventing foundation and other makeup from slipping into lines and cracks. Foye says it's time to ensure the secret gets out, and she's a fan of this primer from Revlon, which prepares skin for flawless makeup application and SPF 30 guards against damage from UVB rays. "I love that it has zero white cast and boosts glow, too, giving my makeup an overall dewy effect," Foye shares. "It’s especially great for my mouth and chin area where little creases form. I put it on before foundation, and they’re completely covered."
Best Undereye Primer: Peter Thomas Roth Instant FIRMx Eye Temporary Eye Tightener
Sephora
Save the extra baggage for your post-retirement travel plans. Leilani Green, a beauty content creator with 2.3 million followers, swears by the Peter Thomas Roth Instant FIRMx Eye Temporary Eye Tightener to reduce under-eye baggage and sagging. Green suggests using it as a pre-primer to nix under-eye bags as much as possible. “I noticed that people with matured skin go for this because it quite literally and instantly temporarily diminishes under eye sagging and bags," Green recently told Parade. "When I tried it out, it was a bit drying, but it completely worked. It's truly insane."
Best Highlighter: Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter
Elf
It's a social-media-loved product that actually lives up to the hype. Foye saw people raving that the Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter was a less-expensive alternative to Charlotte Tilbury and decided to put it to the test. "After just a few uses, I was hooked," Foye says. "It gives a lot of sheen to counteract the dullness that can happen in perimenopause, and for $14, the price point can’t be beat."
Best Bronzer: Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick
Sephora
So sick of that same old bronzer? As in, the one that doesn't give you the radiant results you hoped for when you forked over $50+? This cream bronzer stick from Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty line looks and feels like a second skin. "It has a natural finish, which is great for everyday use," celebrity makeup artist Elaina Badro previously shared with Parade.
Best Contour Stick: Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick
Fenty Beauty
Speaking of musicians-turned-beauty-moguls, The Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick from Rihanna's Fenty Beauty provides long-lasting light-as-air coverage in numerous shades. "It has a creamy texture that blends very well into skin—excellent for older skin needing extra moisture," Laura Pucker, a beauty guru and founder and CEO of Pucker Up Beauty, noted in a recent interview. "[The] best part is it doesn’t settle in fine lines, so you get natural contour without emphasizing wrinkles."
Foundations
They call it foundation for a reason. Sure, a solid skincare routine starts pre-makeup. However, the foundation lays the base for the rest of your makeup. It ensures the rest of your makeup looks smooth and even—if you use the best ones. These flawless foundations set the rest of your makeup up for serious success.
Best Drugstore Foundation: L’Oréal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation
Amazon
Even celebrity makeup artists with A-list clients swear by this everywoman staple.
Michele Probst, an A-list celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert, previously recommended the L' Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation to Parade's readers. Probst highlighted that the 50 antioxidant concentrated serum and hyaluronic acid nourished the skin, leaving people with an enviable glow. The liquid formula's second-skin properties keep your look healthy and crease-free.
Best Tinted Moisturizer: Saie Slip Tint, Pai Skincare The Impossible Glow
Amazon
Parade Print's editorial director, Janet Mowat, rarely wears foundation, but you can color her a fan of Saie Slip's tinted moisturizer. "I like to drop this stuff into my moisturizer—Rose Gold in general, and then a bit of Bronze if I have a tan—to give a little glowy boost to my skin in general, especially if it’s a day when I’m not wearing much other makeup," Mowat says. "It gives just the right amount of shimmer without making you look sparkly.” It was recently voted the "undisputed" best-tinted moisturizer. In interviews with Parade for the listing, celebrity dermatologists Dr. Marnie B. Nussbaum, MD, FAAD and Dr. Kim Nichols, MD, FAAD, praised its formula consisting of hyaluronic acid and SPF. It protects and hydrates the skin, leaving you with a dewy look that won't clog cores.
Best Full-Coverage Undereye Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer
Tarte
Hawkins has long loved Tarte for its natural, cruelty-free practices. However, she noticed that finding good concealers that don't cake or crease is like finding needles in haystacks, "especially given how much thinner the skin is under my eyes than it used to be." However, Hawkins says Tarte's Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer is light and creamy but not cakey or flakey. It doesn't come off during the day, and the shades hide dark circles. Dr. Anna Chacon, MD, a board-certified dermatologist, is also a fan, previously divulging the product is "full coverage and has a long-lasting formula, so it's great for anyone planning to wear makeup for a full day. This concealer does a great job hiding imperfections while hydrating the skin so you get the best of both worlds."
Best CC Cream: IT Cosmetics CC Cream
IT Cosmetics
Recently tapped as the best overall CC cream for mature skin, IT Cosmetics CC cream boasts a full-coverage formulation designed to conceal discoloration and sun damage. Celebrity makeup Jennifer Wasser, a celebrity makeup artist whose clients have included Matt Bomer, Pierson Fondé and Tory Trowbridge, previously applauded its coverage and high SPF protection that can reduce your odds of seeing further damage.
Skincare
It's more than makeup. How we clean and hydrate our skin every night and day can help slow the hands of time—and even turn back the clock. You'll find plenty of clever marketing copy promising to do just that and more online, making it challenging to separate hype from the deserved holy grail. Our editors and experts cut through the noise and bring you skincare saviors you can have faith in.
Best Hydrating Cleanser: CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
Amazon
"Skincare savior" can connote "way expensive." CeraVe products, including the beloved hydrating facial cleanser, show that's simply untrue. Dr. Hannah Kopelman, DO, a dermatologist and hair loss expert, recently described the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser as "gentle, hydrating, and effective for all skin types."
Dr. Dendy Engelman, MD FACMS FAAD, a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Shafer Clinic, agrees that CeraVe's cleanser is a winner. He hailed it as "affordable and effective" with Parade's team.
Best Vitamin C Serum: Beauty Stat Vitamin C Serum
BeautyStat
BeautyStat purports to have the first Vitamin C at its optimal 20% strength—and it teams up with peptides to firm the skin. "I can tell from the application, [the vitamin C is] highly active," Foye shares. "After about a month of use, I started to see new brightness and less discoloration, and people started telling me how great my skin looked. After that, I was hooked." (Bonus: It's better priced than other raved-about brands like Gen-Z-favorite Drunk Elephant and SkinCeuticals.)
Best Eye Cream: Natuneo Lifting Eye Cream
Natuneo
A good eye cream is like a refresh button for the eyes, serving as a knife-free wrinkle-smoother and lid-lifter. In January, celebrity makeup artist Ashley Gomila recommended Natuneo Lifting Eye Cream for upper and lower lids. Its PF4 complex guards the skin from free radicals and can thwart premature aging, making it a great pick even for women in their 40s.
Best Repair Serum: Farmhouse Fresh: WineDown Recovery Serum
Farmhouse Fresh
The biggest drawback about this nighttime serum is that it's "so good, sometimes, they have a hard time keeping it in stock," shares Hawkins, who applies it directly to clean skin before she uses sleep cream. "It makes me look more refreshed and gives my skin a more even, polished look," Hawkins says. "It's packed with powerful antioxidants to help repair your skin while you sleep, and you can rest easy knowing part of the proceeds from every sale goes to helping rescue and care for farm animals."
Best Hydrating Moisturizer: La Roche-Posay Double Repair
Amazon
Those who crave "super-thick, rich creams" like Drunk Elephants and Sunday Riley and a good deal will 20/10 want to try this pharmacy-brand favorite. "My dry perimenopausal skin just drinks it up," Foye says. Patty Bell, a makeup artist, calls it one of the best high-end drugstore brands on the shelves. "This one locks the moisture in the skin and repairs it at the same time," Bell dished to Parade in January. "It’s...filled with healthy minerals for the skin."
Best Everyday Moisturizer: Farmhouse Fresh Fields of Green Organic Matcha Ultra-Soothing Moisturizer
Farmhouse Fresh
Farmhouse Fresh's Fields of Green Organic Matcha Ultra-Soothing Moisturizer is Hawkins' "go-to" when the weather gets chilly and dry. "It's creamy and rich without being greasy, and it's infused with hyaluronic acid for an extra boost of anti-aging goodness," Hawkins says. She's a fan of Farmhouse Fresh's vegan, cruelty-free products. The pet mom also adores that Farmhouse Fresh donates some of its proceeds to help care for rescued farm animals.
Best Peptide-Rich Moisturizer: Dieux Instant Angel Lipid & Peptide-Rich Moisturizer + Barrier Repair
Dieux
Peptides are having a moment in skincare, but Dieux Instant Angel Lipid & Peptide-Rich Moisturizer + Barrier Repair is a hidden gem. "Dieux is an under-the-radar brand that's slowly rolled out a limited product line over the past few years on social media," Foye explains. "I've tried every product, and so far, my absolute favorite is Dieux Instant Angel, which focuses on hydrating peptides and barrier repair, which are so important for aging skin. And it’s super-calming on my sensitive skin."
Best Exfoliant: Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliating Toner for Clear Skin
Paula's Choice
Paula's Choice is neither a secret nor a stranger to "best of" awards. And you can add another one to its mantle. "This stuff minimizes pores, evens skin tone and takes years off skin," LaTonya "Tony" Leach, Attune Wellness Med Spa's celebrity esthetician, told Parade for a list of best exfoliators for mature skin (in which Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliating Toner for Clear Skin took "best overall"). Leach adds the product is consistent and reliable. She suggests applying a nickel-sized amount onto a cotton pad and applying it to the skin with a gentle pat post-cleansing.
Best Night Cream: Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix
Elemis
Your skin works overtime to replenish and repair. A good night cream provides a running head start, and Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Mix is the top pick of Rachael Chambers, a licensed esthetician and in-house expert at celeb fave Oh Beauty. She raves that the luxe emollient night cream does more than hydrate. It also retexturizes the skin while you snooze. "Samphire has anti-inflammatory properties designed to soothe and nourish," Chambers revealed in a previous interview with Parade.
Best "Filler" Eye Cream: Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Fill + Repair Eye Cream
DermInfusions
Launched by Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare on March 18, this fill and repair eye cream is already a winner. The at-home Rx uses two weights of hyaluronic acid, copper, peptides and other ingredients to work every angle of the eye area. Crow's feet, under eyes, lids and bunny lines? Oh my, they're no match. "This is a new product category—designed to be an alternative to filler—and I was excited to see if it works.," shared one Parade staffer. "I tried this stuff for two weeks. The results were noticeable.”
Best Discoloration Spot Treatment: Elizabeth Arden Visible Brightening Clearly Radiant Spot Correcting Capsules
Elizabeth Arden
This fast-acting treatment for discoloration is packed with encapsulated Vitamin C. It was spot on for a Parade editor: “I have a lot of photo pigmentation after years in the sun, and after two weeks of use, I could see noticeable lightning," the editor raves.
Best Celeb Skincare Line: Uncommon Beauty by Kristin Cavalleri
Uncommon Beauty
The reality-TV-to-skincare pipeline is a jam-packed space. However, not all lines are created equally. Kristin Cavalleri's line is a time-tested favorite and a hand-tested winner among Parade's staff. "I've used multiple products from their skincare line and have been completely amazed at the results," says Lisa Delaney, Parade's Chief Content Officer. "I especially love the Enhanced Daily Water Cream as an everyday moisturizer—it goes on lighter than other daily moisturizers I've tried, but it gives me the same glow." Delaney is also a fan of the Vitamin C-rich Enhanced Pineapple Peptide Nectar. "My skin was smoother and brighter within a few days of daily use," she dishes, adding that she loves that the products are clean, vegan, cruelty-free and fragrance-free.
Best SPF: Bioré UV Aqua Rich Daily Hydrating Facial Moisturizer with SPF 50
Amazon
If there's one thing dermatologists agree on, it's that SPF is an absolute must. Parade deputy food and drink editor Nina Elder loves Biorzé UV Aqua Rich Daily Hydrating facial moisturizer with SPF 50 so much that she uses it on her 10-year-old. That's high praise from someone who notes that she buys "very few products. "But this SPF is a constant," Elder shares. "After doing some research into the best sunscreens out there, my husband found this Bioré product and bought a few bottles for us to try. I was an immediate fan! It goes on smoothly and evenly and doesn't leave any greasy or white residue. And it really works."
Best Pore-Refining Peel: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel
Amazon
One would hope that pore problems were permanently stowed away in high school lockers. However, congested and visible pores can happen at any age. Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel's patented two-step anti-aging AHA/BHA peel pad pre-dosed with seven acids is designed to make fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pores and shine far less visible. "I've seen such a huge difference in my skin tone and texture since using them regularly," Foye explains.
Shani Darden, Jessica Alba and Shay Mitchell's esthetician previously raved that the AHAs and oil-BHAs combine to "dissolve congestion inside pores."
Hair Care
Maybe you're not ready (or interested) in embracing grays. Perhaps you're hoping to give your hair a volumizing boost. Regardless of your goals, these products are a lock to help you make every day a good hair day.
Best Dandruff Shampoo: Head and Shoulders
Snow on the beach? Really you-know-what beautiful. Flakes on your black shirt or blazer? No thanks. There's a reason Head and Shoulders remains a top-recommended pick for fighting dandruff, even as TikTok uncovers a new "must-have" daily. Their shampoos contain dandruff-fighting ingredients that work.
"Head & Shoulders' shampoos contain pyrithione zinc—found in the classic white-and-blue bottles—or selenium sulfide in the Clinical Strength series," explains Dr. Viktoryia Kazlouskaya, MD, Ph.D., a board-certified dermatologist and CEO of Dermatology Circle PLLC. "Both are clinically proven anti-dandruff ingredients that reliably work. While regular Head & Shoulders shampoos are gentle enough for daily use, the clinical strength formulas are best reserved for treating severe dandruff only."
Best Volumizing Dry Shampoo: Halovida Instantly Fresh Volumizing Spray
Halovida Instantly Fresh Volumizing Spray is an instant favorite of Foye's. "It totally pumps up the volume with no lasting residue or overwhelming chemical scent," Foye says. "It's totally different than the typical powder sprays that leave a lot of whiteness and seem to fade after a few hours. People stop me and ask me what I've done to get such great volume." What did Holovida do? Create a dry shampoo that says it uses "microsphere technology and Vitamin E for shine, and it's free of talc, silicones and sulfates to protect scalp health."
Best Color Protectant: Joico, Zotos brands
Dr. Kopelman tells patients that protecting the cuticle and minimizing damage is the key to making hair color last longer. Joico products from Zotos brands do just that.
"These products contain arginine, which helps strengthen the hair and prevent breakage, plus some formulas have UV filters to help reduce sun-related fading, Dr. Kopelman says. "I love that they’re designed specifically for color-treated hair because regular shampoos can strip away color too quickly." Still, Dr. Kopelman says heat (hot water, heat-styling and spending too much time in the sun without protection:) will reduce the effectiveness of even quality products like these, so stick to lukewarm washing, heat protectants and gentle handling.
Best Hair Mask: Davines Love Smoothing Instant Mask
Davines
Experts tout deep, nourishing hair masks as musts for mature women. Hawkins was "instantly hooked" on Davines when she started using products from the brand's line a few years ago. "This smoothing hair mask is a life-saver for my dry, frizzy, unmanageable, perimenopausal hair," Hawkins says. "Every time I use it, my hair feels soft, looks shiner, and is much more under control. The Davines line is made in Italy and features top-tier botanical ingredients without a bunch of harmful chemicals."
Best Root Concealer: Madison Reed The Great Touch Root Coverup + Brow Filler
Ulta
Roots can be the Achilles heel of haircare: nagging and needy. "I've been searching for a root touch-up powder since the typical drugstore spray-on variety started to thin my hairline," Foye says. "This powder totally does the job without any harmful effects and lasts all day. It even comes with a brow spoolie so my brows match. My hands-down favorite of all I've tried."
Best Hair Tool: Calista Go Go Mini Round Brush
Calista
Give the big dogs a day off here and there. The Calista Go-Go Mini Round Brush is excellent for low-maintenance days or busier-than-usual mornings. "Calista Mini Hot Roller Brush gives you instant lift without having to bust out the big hair curling tools or brush," Foye says. "I love the pocket size, and it gives just enough soft curl to look refreshed."
Body Love
There are many ways to show your body TLC. If these products make you feel good, then they fit that bill.
Best Neck Firming Creams: Farmhouse Fresh Necks Level Smooth
Farmhouse Fresh
Hawkins calls the formula of Farmhouse Fresh's Necks Level Smooth Cream "a game-changer." It uses a proprietary elasticizing bioactive plant blend to take a decade off your skin. "It's rich and smooth," Hawkins says. "The light, clean smell is fantastic without being overpowering. I apply it at night before hopping into bed, and the skin on my neck always feels soft and smooth the next morning. The lines on my neck are much less noticeable since I started using it."
Best Skin Firming Cream: Nécessaire The Body Lotion
Amazon
When patients ask for ways to achieve tighter skin, Dr. Nussbaum recommends Nécessaire's Body Lotion. "With five peptides, 2.5% niacinamide and two different kinds of fatty acids, they all work together to help strengthen the skin barrier and firm the skin," Dr. Nussbaum explained to Parade when discussing top moisturizers for maturing skin. "I specifically like this one because while it firms, it hydrates."
Best Regenerating Products: Mānuka Health
Mānuka Health
Mānuka honey is buzzy, but is it the bee's knees for skincare? "Mānuka honey has been shown to possess antimicrobial and wound-healing properties and is commonly used in skincare to help soothe, hydrate, and support skin repair," Dr. Kazlouskaya says. "However, people with an allergy to honey or pollens should exhibit caution."
Dr. Chacon loves that this wellness kit from Mānuka Health includes Mānuka Honey (along with two serums and a lip balm), which can "revitalize the skin by improving [its] elasticity and texture, leaving you with radiant, glowing skin." "It's really beneficial for some key skin concerns like acne, dry skin, uneven skin texture and tone," Dr. Chacon says. "This product can smooth your skin, help with texture, can help increase collagen production, which can help with its plump, youthful appearance and will help hydrate the skin, helping with any dryness concerns."
Best Bronzer: Yves Saint Laurent All Hours 24hr Hyper Sunkissed Bronzer
Yves Saint Laurent
Tanning beds are very out of vogue due to health concerns. No matter. Everyday products can get you a safe, sunkissed style. Yves Saint Laurent All Hours 24hr Hyper Sunkissed Bronzer is the brightest of the bunch. "Soft buildable powder that bronzes and highlights in all the right areas, giving you a perfect sunkissed look," gushed Amy Galloway, celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert who has worked with Vivienne Westwood, Krista Allen, and Dolph Lundgren, in a Parade interview.
Best Deodorant: Evolve Together Deodorant
Credo Beauty
It's not possible to never let anyone see you sweat. However, Evolve Together's aluminum, toxin-free formula ensures your sweat doesn't become a multi-sensory experience for anyone (including yet). The coolest part. "The active fragrance...works harder when your body temperature rises," divulges one Parade staffer. "With scents like orange blossom and jasmine and rose mandarin, it’s like having the most high-end, expertly crafted fragrance on all day. I got the discovery pack and have used them all."
Best Moisturizer with SPF: Origins A Perfect World SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer
Origins
Mowat has worn SPF on her face every day for decades, so she knows what's what. "I appreciate a good all-in-one moisturizer with sunscreen that isn’t chalky or sticky, and this one has been fitting the bill for years," Mowat says. While it's pricey, Mowat says that it's not that much more than many drugstore brands and has dishes that Origins has good seasonal sales "so you can stock up."
Best Hydrating Handcream: Marin Skincare's Soothing Hydration Cream
Marin
Based in Maine, Marin capitalizes on its surroundings, using natural glycoproteins from lobster byproducts. This barrier-repairing super ingredient stimulates the skin's natural collagen and hyaluronic acid production. Raves one Parade staffer, "This lotion really feels different on, like a super-thick wall of protection, staying hydrating for hours, even overnight. It’s my skin's secret weapon against freezing Northeast winters."
Nail Care
Roughed-up cuticles, broken nails and other pain points can feel like...nails on a chalkboard. Never mind that the nails can become more brittle as you age. These two power products will lend nails a helping hand.
Best Nail and Cuticle Care Tools: Cuccio
Cuccio
Dr. Kopelman constantly tells patients that healthy nails start with proper cuticle care.
"If you’re trimming or pushing them back too aggressively, you can actually cause more harm than good," Dr. Kopelman says. However, Cuccio's tools are nicer to your nails (and budget because they're so durable). "I like high-quality stainless steel tools like these because they’re precise and long-lasting," Dr. Kopelman says."They’re great for keeping nails neat and preventing hangnails, which can easily get irritated or even infected if neglected." Dr. Kopelman cautions everyone not to over-trim the cuticle because it's a barrier to protect your nail bed. She also suggests treating nails with cuticle oil or moisturizer after using tools to "keep everything hydrated and healthy."
Best Press-On Nails: Salon X-tend Nail Kit
KISS USA
Fresh off serving as the lead nail artist for the Christian Cowan Fall/Winter 2025 show at New York Fashion Week, Julie Kandalec, celebrity nail artist and nailpreneur, spilled to Parade she “definitely” recommends the Salon X-tend Nail Kit. The "Gloria" style is her go-to. "They have a look that's called Gloria. It's like a soft, sheer pink… It's like the most beautiful, soft pink. It's gorgeous,” Kandalec reports, divulging she keeps has a drawer of them at home. Kandalec says they can give you beautiful, almond-shaped nails in 20 minutes flat.
Tools
Erasers, a red-light product that actually works and wands that would make Glinda swoon make our list of tools that'll make these years truly golden for the skin.
Best Wrinkle-Erasing Tool: NuFace Fix MicroWand
Sephora
NuFace Fix MicroWand uses low-level electrical current to give the face a (gentle) workout, toning, lifting and tightening the skin. "NuFace MicroWand visibly decreases the look of my smile lines, and this new hand-held size is so easy to use," shares a Parade staffer.
Best Depuffing Tool: Theraface Depuffing Wand
Therabody
The Theraface Depuffing Wand is high-flying and travels well (literally, it's TSA-approved), allowing you to take cold-and-heat treatments with you for an on-the-go boost. "Theraface Depuffing Wand is my favorite new tool," a Parade staffer spills. "In just three minutes, you can see your under-eye bags go away."
Best Red Light Tool: Solawave Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand
Solawave
The Solawave Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand uses red light therapy, galvanic current, facial massage and therapeutic warmth to reduce signs of aging and leave you with a glowing, lifted and firmer look. "Solawave Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand is a great, affordable option if you want the benefits of red light therapy without the price of a full-face, neck or chest mask," raves a Parade staffer. "In just 12 minutes a day, I saw the effects after only two weeks."
Best Anti-Aging Tool: FasciaBlaster Beginner Kit
FasciaBlaster
Fascia—the hair-like collagen that surrounds every cell in our body—plays a vital role in your biological age, cellular health and skin appearance. Giving your fascia a regular 20-minute workout with the FasciaBlaster purportedly can improve blood flow, hydration, nutrient absorption in cells and your ability to build new collagen. The results? A you that looks and feels younger. "I have been using this tool for the past two weeks, and boy, what a difference. This is something I’m really excited about," a Parade staffer shares.
Supplements
Skincare is an inside-out process. Sleep and gut health are sometimes overlooked lifestyle aspects that can affect what you see on your face (and elsewhere). While supplements aren't magic cures for any of life's ailments—and it's always a good idea to get a green light from your healthcare team before trying one—you may find some are valuable tools for supporting sleep, digestion and, as a result, skin.
Best Sleep Aid: Moon Juice Magnesi-OM
Moon Juice
Menopause can do a number on the number of hours of sweet slumber you log. Magnesium rose in popularity on TikTok recently, including for its ability to help with sleep (it's the star of the Sleepy Girl Mocktail—sorry, cherry juice). However, taking a supplement might help you get into Zen mode sans a 3 a.m. bathroom trip a mocktail might trigger. "As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized the power of nightly magnesium for better sleep," Foye dishes. "Moon Juice Magnesium packets have become my nightly ritual. They taste great and have helped me get my eight hours, which sets the foundation for more energy and more vibrant skin every day."
Best Daily Probiotic: Seed
Seed
One Parade staffer has tried seemingly every supplement on the shelf for improved gut health. Seed is the long-awaited winner. "I’ve been on all sorts of supplements, and by far, SEED has made the biggest difference in my overall gut health, digestion and regularity," the staffer revealed. "After a few months on SEED, my stomach has noticeably flattened, and certain cravings have all but disappeared."
Health Helpers
"Beauty" involves a holistic approach to health—sleep, dental hygiene and more. From the silkiest pillow case to products that'll rival your stands of pearls, these health helpers will give your whole body and mind a boost.
Best Whitening Toothpaste: Hello C Whitening Toothpaste
Amazon
Hello C uses Vitamin C as an alternative to hydrogen peroxide for teeth whitening. It's free of parabens and artificial sweeteners. Foye has noticed some genuinely sweet changes to her smile. "Hello C...got my teeth at least two shades lighter with zero sensitivity," she reports. "It has such a fresh peppermint flavor, too."
Best Whitening Pen: Colgate Optic White Overnight Whitening Pen
Amazon
One Parade editor's dentist recommend she try the Colgate Optic White Overnight Whitening Pen as an alternative to pricy in-office whitenings. "I was so glad she did," the editor raves. "In just three days of painting my teeth at night with the brush, I saw visible whiteness and less discoloration."
Best Under Eye Patches: Rinna Beauty Bright Eyes Under Eye Patches
Macy's
Celebrity dermatologists share eye patches that can help firm, smooth and lift the area by your peepers. The Rinna Beauty Bright Eyes Under Eye Patches from actress Lisa Rinna's line uses hydrogel cooling to cool, soothe, and prep the delicate undereye area for dark circles and puffiness. One Parade editor saw visible results in literal minutes when using them. “In just 20 minutes, I saw my dark circles almost disappear," she shares. "They also stay on well, so you can multi-task while depuffing.”
Best Silk Pillowcase: Blissy Silk Pillowcase
Amazon
Sleep isn't a luxury—it's necessary for your overall health, inside and out. However, this pillowcase surely feels luxe and is like a sweet dream for the skin. Mowat got the pricey-for-a-pillowcase made with mulberry silk. "But after using it, I can confidently say I’d fork over the money to buy another one," Mowat spills. "It doesn’t rough up my follicles or skin, and it’s easy to handwash in the morning, hang to dry and reapply that night once or twice a week. I admit I didn’t fully appreciate it until I slept on a regular cotton pillowcase. Even though it was soft, I woke up with a crease on my cheek and frizzy bedhead—silk all the way."
Best Shaving Tools: Nimbi Plastic Alternative Disposable Razors and Shave Foam Puck
Nimbi
Nimbi wanted to make a better razor, and you can consider it a mission accomplished. Nimbi's razors have an intricately designed single blade that targets course, thick or colled hair without leaving you with a razor burn. Hair grows back more slowly, and you can bid adieu to ingrown hairs. "I was skeptical but amazed at how smooth my legs felt after using and didn’t see regrowth for a few days," shared a Parade editor. "And it’s 100% compostable material, too, so you’re doing good for the environment with every use." That's what we call a puck drop.
