(KRON) – A warming trend continues today as high pressure drives warmer-than-normal temperatures across the Bay Area. However, high clouds will gradually increase as a weak cold front slowly moves in later today into tonight, bringing a chance of light rain to the North Bay.
After the front has passed, cooler air and clouds will linger through Monday. On Tuesday, temperatures will again rise above normal in most locations, especially inland. Wednesday and Thursday will be the warmest days of the week.
The ridge responsible for the warmer temperatures this week will shift east of the Bay Area by next weekend and cool temperatures will return, with numbers closer to normal.
A Beach Hazard Statement remains in effect through Monday night for the entire coastline. Considering the hazards posed by sneaker waves and rip currents, beachgoers should stay off of jetties and rocks, keep pets on leashes, wear life jackets, and never turn their backs on the ocean.
