    FAN REACTIONS

Fans of the popular Greek destination shared an outpouring of support in the comments.

Many claimed to have been customers for decades.

“Chrys, my father had been shopping at ‘The Greek Store’ since we moved out to LA in the late 50s,” one user wrote.

“Back then, it was one of the only places in LA where he could purchase the Middle Eastern food he grew up on, feta cheese, techina, lakerda, etc.

“He remembered you as a little kid running around. He passed away in 2021 at 93 but the last restaurant meal we ate at together was at Papa Christo’s. I asked one of the staff if you were around, you came down and chatted a bit. That was very generous of you.

“We will miss ‘The Greek Store’, an LA institution.”

    “Love Papa Cristo’s,” another wrote.

“Been going there for over 20 years. I love the roast lamb and green beans and the gyro salad. No other Greek restaurant compares to Papa Cristo’s.”

“Sure am gonna miss my Easter feast every year,” added another.

“Sad news but 77 years is an amazing accomplishment. Big congrats.”
