Fire sparks at east Denver multifamily home Thursday morning

A multifamily building caught fire in east Denver on Thursday morning, according to the Denver Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the building near Fairmount Drive and East Alameda Avenue at around 7:30 a.m., agency officials said on social media. The area is near Denver’s Windsor and Lowry Field neighborhoods.

    Crews found smoke coming from the building when they arrived but managed to get water on the fire and started overhauling it, according to the department.

    No injuries were reported. Department officials did not say how many people were displaced by the fire and could not immediately be reached for comment.
