POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Caller on Cindee Drive reported at 1:06 a.m. March 30 that a possible domestic fight was occurring. An officer responded and arrested a 25-year-old Ukiah man for misdemeanor domestic battery, who was booked into Mendocino County Jail.
CAMPERS NEAR ATM: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported at 10:59 a.m. March 30 that people were camping near an ATM. An officer responded and reported that the people were contacted and “left the area upon request.”
DISTURBANCE: An officer responded to a motel in the 1200 block of South State Street at 2:14 a.m. March 31 for a report of a disturbance and arrested Richard L. McCormick Jr., 37, of Ukiah, on suspicion of violating his parole, threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into county jail.
VANDALISM: Caller on Gibson Street reported at 9 a.m. March 31 that a “neighbor kicked in (their) door.” An officer responded and took a report of vandalism.
BRANDISHING WEAPON: Caller at the Social Security Administration building on South Orchard Avenue reported at 1:48 p.m. March 31 that a man “threw a knife at a security” guard. An officer responded and arrested a 56-year-old Ukiah man for trespassing, battery against a first responder and failure to appear. He was booked into county jail. At 2:56 p.m., a caller at the SSA building reported finding drugs. An officer responded and took a report for found property.
RECKLESS DIRT BIKE: Caller at the corner of Washo and Pomo drives reported at 4:24 p.m. March 31 that a dirt bike was being driven recklessly. An officer responded and reported that those responsible were “contacted and advised.”
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer contacted a man in the 800 block of North State Street at 1:18 a.m. April 1 and arrested Kenneth F. Partridge, 57, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with priors, possessing a concealed dirk or dagger, possessing drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Caller on Village Circle reported at 3:18 a.m. April 2 hearing “suspicious noises in the area” and requested that the area be checked. An officer responded and reported not finding any issues of concern.
DOG BITE: An officer responded to the 200 block of Freitas Street at 7:27 a.m. April 2 and took a report of a dog bite.
DOG BITE: An officer responded to the 200 block of North School Street at 7:29 a.m. April 2 and took a report of a dog bite.
ILLEGAL CAMPING: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously at the corner of Perry and Rupe streets at 8:28 a.m. April 2 and cited a 48-year-old person for violating the city’s camping codes. At 12:01 p.m., a caller from that location reported that someone was trespassing and was told that officers had contacted the person that morning.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer stopped a pedestrian near Kohl’s on North Orchard Avenue at 4:36 a.m. April 2 and arrested a 37-year-old Ukiah man for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violating his probation and failure to appear. He was booked into county jail.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
