For the ninth straight season, the Toronto Maple Leafs are heading to the post-season.
With a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night, the Leafs have clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
John Tavares got the Leafs on the board in the second period with his team trailing 1-0, scoring his 36th goal of the season.
Mitch Marner put the Leafs ahead 2-1 in the third period with his 24th goal that beat Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
With just under five minutes left in the third period, Matthew Knies put Toronto up 3-1 as he snuck a backhander under Bobrovsky.
The Panthers scored again late but couldn’t complete the rally.
