Two people are dead after a car traveling the wrong way on the southbound I-15 slammed into another car in the Deer Springs area early Sunday.
911 dispatchers first started to receive calls about two drivers unconscious and trapped in their vehicles after a wrong-way collision just north of the Deer Springs exit at about 2:22 a.m. Sunday.
Several other vehicles also hit debris that was scattered across freeway lanes, according to Onscene.Media.
Paramedics and other first responders were able to extricate the drivers from both vehicles, but both were pronounced deceased.
The California Highway Patrol announced a traffic alert and closed the southbound 15 just south of the 76.
