(KRON) -- Police are investigating an incident caught on camera of a Tesla Cybertruck being vandalized by a man at a popular shopping center in Novato.
Man suspected of setting fire to Tesla vehicles in Las Vegas arrested, police sayThe Tesla owner, Daniel Shiu, reached out to KRON4 with video of the crime — all captured by the vehicle.
According to Shiu, the incident took place on March 22 at 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Marketplace in Novato.
Video shows a man walking closely up to the side of the vehicle, hiding his motion when he scrapes the car with a key then continuing to walk away off camera.

There have been multiple widespread reports in recent months of Tesla cars being vandalized by protestors who oppose Tesla co-founder and current CEO Elon Musk and his ties with U.S. President Donald Trump's administration. Since 2025, Musk has acted as a senior advisor to President Trump, as well as the de facto head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
