This happened on the southbound side of MoPac near West Parmer Lane. All southbound lanes of MoPac were closed shortly before 7 a.m. for the crash investigation.
The Texas Department of Transportation Austin office posted on X at 6:48 a.m. about the crash, noting the lane closures.
Austin-Travis County EMS posted on X at 7:01 a.m. that medics had responded to an auto vs. pedestrian crash, and a person was pronounced dead on the scene.
