A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has rocked the Thai capital of Bangkok, causing buildings to sway.
Residents poured out of high rise buildings and hotels in the densely populated city, which is home to more than 17 million people.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in central Myanmar, about 50km (30 miles) east of the city of Monywa, Germany’s GFZ center for geosciences said.

Many buildings were evacuated as they swayed in the rare quake.
There were no immediate reports of the effect of the earthquake in Myanmar, which is in the middle of a civil war.
