The MS-13 leader was captured in Woodbridge, Va., outside Washington, D.C., and, while his name hasn't been released, is considered one of the top three leaders of the gang in the U.S., Fox News reported.
Others at the White House hailed the arrest, including press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who said on X, “This is what happens when you have competent federal leadership working with state/local law enforcement on the ground!”
The arrest comes as the administration is in a court battle over its use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan migrants. U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who Trump has said should be impeached, issued a ruling to block the administration from using the 18th century law and a federal appeals court refused on Wednesday to lift his order.
