AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Aurora police have released photos from new angles of two persons of interest in the 2023 deadly shooting of a 13-year-old outside an Aurora mall.
In March 2023, Phoenix Tyler Day was shot and killed in the parking lot of the town center at Aurora.
At the time, Aurora police said a fight in the mall’s food court eventually led to the parking lot and the fatal outcome. The pictures show two individuals from inside the town center. They have not yet been identified.
Day’s mother is hoping the photos will trigger memories and justice will be served.
“We don’t want this to end in silence,” said Tabatha Denney, the teen’s mother.

Denney said she took the family’s other two children to the Denver Zoo, as she had the previous year.
“He (phoenix) liked going to the zoo, so, that’s what we did," Denny said, “to not know what happened to their brother is hard.”
Police believe the persons of interest have critical information to help detectives advance the case.
An email from FOX31 to the town center at Aurora’s general manager on Wednesday afternoon was not immediately returned.
