A ridge of high pressure will keep temperatures summer-like through Tuesday, with occasional coastal clouds and fog, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures Tuesday are expected to reach 68 to 73 near the coast, 77 to 82 inland, 79 to 83 in the western valleys, 83 to 88 near the foothills, 78 to 86 in the mountains and 95 to 99 in the deserts.
A trough offshore will begin to shift the weather pattern midweek. This will significantly cool areas west of the mountains around 10 to 15 degrees as the deserts remain in the 90s.
A deeper marine layer and breezy west winds will develop across the mountains and deserts by Thursday and Friday, according to meteorologists.
By next weekend, temperatures are expected to return to near-normal levels, the NWS said.
