KROGER has apologized after a shopper was denied lifesaving medication due to a broken store system.
But the angry customer was left with no choice but to stick to Kroger‘s policy as his backup pharmacy was closed.
The annoying incident was revealed on an X post on March 16, which left a shopper having to compromise on how he paid.
The social media rant read: “@kroger @ExpressScripts You both need to get your act together.
“I went to Smiths in Springville, UT, to get my new meds.
“It was denied as the system is still not updated.
“I had to pay out of my pocket as my backup pharmacy was already closed.”
This complaint shows the shopper being forced to not use his prescription request because the system was behind.
If the man had not had cash on him, there is a chance he may have been refused his important medication.
Express Scripts responded to the complaint: “We apologize for any inconvenience experienced.
“Please email [email protected] your name, member ID number, date of birth, and telephone number, and I will be happy to have someone from our team reach out to you.”
Kroger also replied: “Hi! I regret hearing about your inconvenience. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
“We suggest you sending us private message to provide you with the best assistance, Thank you. Looking forward to hearing from you.”
It is difficult to know if this interaction went any further, as it was not carried on publicly.
It is worth noting that this complaint only singles out one specific location.
This suggests that the problem isn’t necessarily a storewide one, and is instead possibly found on a store-by-store basis.
KROGER KOMPLAINT
The US Sun recently reported on another complaint to hit Kroger, this time involving a self-checkout machine.
The shopper berated the store after an unclear policy interrupted their shopping trip.
According to an X thread, the machine told him he had scanned 17 items.
Kroger's refund policy
Kroger shoppers can return items with or without a receipt.
All Kroger Co. Family of Stores can accept returns of items purchased at any location within 30 days of purchase.
Returns with receipts:
Customers can use digital or paper receipts to get a refund The refund will be returned in the same payment method the purchase was made. Either going back on a card or handed back in cashReturns without receipts:
Customers wanting to return more than $10 will receive a store merchandise gift card for the value Customers who spent less than $10 will receive cashIt appears that the Kroger store in question had implemented a self-checkout policy where only 15 items can be scanned.
The shopper claimed there was no warning of this, and they were hit with a message saying that assistance was on the way.
It left them unable to do anything as the message couldn’t be cleared without a staffer intervening.
Kroger did not respond to the customer.
