A police pursuit of a suspect in a domestic violence incident in the Nestor area ended when the suspect reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to Onscene.Media, the incident began around 7:40 a.m., when a juvenile called 911 and said that her mother was involved in some sort of incident with her ex-boyfriend, who was armed with a handgun.
The man reportedly forced the unidentified victim into a Mercedes sedan in front of an apartment complex on Oro Vista Rd. near Iris Ave., and forced her to drive off.
Iris AvenueOfficers pursued the car until they were able to use spike strips on Tocayo Ave. At that point, the woman got out of the car and ran to safety.
The man subsequently shot and killed himself in the Mercedes, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The victims and alleged perpetrator have not been identified. Meanwhile, the area has been closed while investigators clear the scene.
