2025 KOREAN SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday, March 23rd – Friday, March 28th Gimcheon, South Korea LCM (50m) Results (when available)The 2025 Korean Swimming Championships begin tomorrow, Sunday, March 23rd. The six-day competition represents the sole qualifying opportunity for the nation’s swimmers to add their names to the roster for this summer’s World Championships in Singapore.
Headlining the entries is freestyle ace and two-time Olympian Hwang Sunwoo who is entered in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events.
21-year-old Hwang is the reigning world champion in the men’s 200m free, having notched a time of 1:44.75 to win the event last year in Doha.
The year prior in Fukuoka, Hwang settled for bronze but established a new national record of 1:44.42, a mark he lowered to 1:44.40 en route to claiming Asian Games gold later in the year.
23-year-old Kim Woomin is another big gun set to race this week, with the 2024 Olympic bronze medalist in the men’s 400m free entered in that event, along with the 800m and 1500m free races.
