COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A firefighter is recovering after falling down a flight of stairs while responding to a house fire in west Columbus on Saturday morning.
Authorities responded to the 50 block of North Princeton Avenue shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Saturday on report of a house fire, according to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter.
One of the responding firefighters fell halfway down a flight of stairs that had no railing, Geitter said. The firefighter was taken to Grant Medical Center and is in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
While the fire did extend to a neighboring building, the blaze has since been contained. Investigators are searching to determine the cause.
