ABBOTT Elementary fans fear an actress from the hit show has been fired after her character faced a major plot twist.
Ava, played by Janelle James, got fired as principal in the latest episode of the sitcom – leaving fans totally taken aback.
The hit series has been running since 2021.
Recently, viewers have seen Ava and the rest of the Abbott teachers agreeing not to report the developer of the local golf course.
Despite the developer using non-union workers in exchange for bribes, they agreed not to get him into trouble.
When the school board told the group whichever teachers were involved would get suspended, Ava took responsibility for the bribes and in turn got fired.
“THEY FR FIRED AVA??? holy plot twist. Don’t break my family up like this what is going on,” penned one person on X in the aftermath of Ava’s axe from the school.
“I’m proud of Ava for taking the fall for the teachers BUT I’m sick to my stomach that she actually got fired. THIS IS NOT RIGHT,” said another.
“Ava really got fired, I can’t believe it,” penned a third.
“Ava went from being selfish enough to blackmail her way into the principal’s position to selfless enough to lose her job by taking all the blame in blackmailing the golf course,” wrote a fourth.
And now many fans of the show are concerned that Ava might be written out of the show once and for all due to her character’s sacking.
FANS REACT TO PLOT TWIST
“DID AVA COLEMAN JUST LEAVE ABBOTT ELEMENTARY?” questioned one person on X.
“I know Ava better be back at Abbott next week,” said a second.
“Ava can’t actually be gone right? RIGHT???!!!” quizzed a third.
While a fourth penned: “I could barely watch this episode of Abbott, I’m literally in tears. Not my Ava.”
But fans shouldn’t worry because the character of Ava is not leaving the show.

Abbott Elementary showrunnersExecutive producers and co-showrunners Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern have confirmed that Janelle’s character is not being written out of the ABC sitcom.
They also confirmed that she will not be leaving the show in any capacity.
‘THE STORY IS NOT OVER’
According to TheWrap, they said: “The story is not over.
“You will see Janelle in subsequent episodes.”
They added that the next episode will “immediately” address the plot twist which left fans with their jaws on the floor.
“But it is kind of a longer play,” they went on to tease.
“It’s not something that’s going to resolve itself super quickly.”
