The Egyptian Musicians Syndicate, headed by Mostafa Kamel, issued an order on Tuesday to ban Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe from performing in Egypt.
This decision was made based on a complaint filed by syndicate member Khaled Mostafa Hassanein, also known as Khaled al-Tohamy, who previously worked as her business manager.
The memorandum submitted to the head of the Syndicate and members of the Board of Directors detailed the complaint and the measures taken.
Wehbe was summoned for investigation on two occasions, but failed to appear.
Accordingly, the Investigation Committee decided not to grant her a license to perform in Egypt, and this decision was ratified at the Board of Directors meeting on March 16.
Wehbe is no stranger to controversy.
Previously in August 2024, the Actors’ and Musicians’ syndicates issued a decision to suspend Wehbe from working in Egypt due to her breach of contractual obligations with a film production company and an event organizer.
However, this decision was later rescinded after she reconciled with the relevant authorities.
