Perhaps the best (or at least, my personal favorite) use of rice in a dessert-y dish is the Thai classic, mango sticky rice. It’s the perfect combination of glutinous rice, coconut milk and ripe, juicy mango. Even better than making it from scratch, though, is finding a ready-to-eat treat that incorporates all the flavors into a poppable snack that shoppers seemingly can’t get enough of. And According to @mint_pdxfoodie, Costco has just the thing as the Volupta Mango Rice Crisps made their highly applauded return to stores, with fans saying they’re delicious.
These two-bite morsels come in 12-ounce bags for $9.99 and look like little rice cakes studded with pieces of bright, fruity mango. The treats are gluten and preservative-free and feature real mango without the addition of any artificial flavors. The only foreseeable downside to these treats, according to one fan, is the fact that “the mango chunks were too hard to chew.” Regardless, they also agreed that these were good, so we think we’ll take our chances.
