LEGENDARY singer and frontman of the Youngbloods Jesse Colin Young has died at age 83.
The songwriter, whose real name is Perry Miller, died at his home in Aiken, South Carolina on Sunday afternoon, according to his wife and manager.
His iconic vocals featured on hippie anthem “Get Together” which was a Top Five hit in 1969.
Although he didn’t write “Get Together”, the songwriter composed many other hits for the band, including “Darkness, Darkness”, “Sunlight”, and “Ride the Wind”.
Young also launched his own solo career, releasing a string of albums under his name.
The renowned musician blended genres like folk, jazz, blues, country and rock and roll, and also worked as a producer and label owner.
