(KRON) -- A patchwork of low to mid-level clouds throughout the Bay Area gradually clears out today. Our Saturday should be beautiful, as skies continue to clear, winds remain light, and most of the Bay Area enjoys a break in the rain. However, low clouds could linger in the North Bay, and a few showers could bring a few hundredths of an inch of rain.
What a welcome break, for much of the Bay Area, from the multiple rain systems of the past week, before light rain falls Sunday through Monday. On Sunday morning, light rain falls in the North Bay, before the rain band comes through the Bay Area Sunday evening into the overnight hours, with showers lingering into Monday. Rain totals range from 0.5-1 inch in the North Bay valleys, with up to 2 inches expected in the coastal ranges and the Mayacamas, to around 0.25-0.5 inch in the Bay Area.
Gusty winds are also expected on Sunday, with a Wind Advisory issued from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday for the higher elevations of the North Bay, where wind gusts could reach 40 to 45 miles per hour. Elsewhere, wind gusts could reach 35 to 40 miles per hour. The storm track then shifts northward, and the tail end of systems will affect the North Bay on Wednesday and again toward the end of the week.
Temperatures will remain cool to average through the week. High temperatures remain around 5 to 10 degrees below seasonal averages in the lower elevations, ranging from the upper 50s to the lower 60s in the inland valleys, into the middle 50s at the Pacific coast and down into the upper 40s to the lower 50s in the higher elevations.
