MILPITAS — One person died early Friday following a multi-car freeway crash, the California Highway Patrol said.

More vehicles crashed following the initial collision, the agency said.
The aftermath of the crash left only the far right lane open. it was not known how long the other lanes would remain closed. The CHP issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic.
