The Rams added some depth to their offensive line, agreeing to a deal to bring Coleman Shelton back, the team announced Wednesday.
Shelton played with the Rams from 2019-2023, serving largely on special teams during the 2021 run to Super Bowl LVI and starting at center for the team in 2023. He also played both guard positions for the Rams in 2022.
The Loyola High graduate left via free agency to play for the Chicago Bears last season, but returns now to add depth and competition to the interior of the offensive line. The Rams traded interior lineman Jonah Jackson to the Bears earlier this month, while Joe Noteboom is a free agent.
Shelton’s presence gives the Rams a versatile, veteran option who is familiar with the offense, one who could potentially push for a starting job on the line.
