DENVER (KDVR) — The family of a Thornton traveling nurse has confirmed the body of their loved one has been found in a Montana river.
Simon Ehrlich said that after days of searching, officials in Missoula, Montana, confirmed Sunday afternoon they found the body of Danit Ehrlich.
The 33-year-old traveling nurse was based out of Thornton. Her father said Ehrlich and her dog Bamba had left for an assignment in Tacoma, Washington. En route by vehicle, she and Bamba had stopped at a dog park near the Clark Fork River.
Simon was told the dog may have gotten into a dangerous situation in the river.

“They found her car in the dog park," Simon noted.
Danit's father said her footprints were discovered, along with nearby paw prints.
Simon said the family was holding a “celebration of life” for Danit on Sunday near Miami when they received the news from the Missoula police. The family had loved ones in town from Australia.
The family has established a GoFundMe page to help with expenses and to build a stone memorial near the site where Erlich died.
