DENVER (KDVR) -- Several people have been detained after an armed carjacking in Adams County that involved gunfire.
According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the carjacking happened near the intersection of Conifer and Broadway.
The sheriff's office said at least one shot was fired, and the bullet went through the window of a nearby school. Buildings in the Mapleton Public Schools district, including the district office, are in the area.
The exact number of people detained wasn't given, but the sheriff's office said at least one person was a juvenile.
There were no injuries reported from the carjacking or the nearby school, but schools in the area are on lockdown. The sheriff's office is telling parents to contact their schools for pickup procedures.
