Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK on Tuesday met Biju Janata Dal President and Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik to discuss the delimitation issue.
The two-member delegation comprising DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran and Tamil Nadu Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaja met Naveen Patnaik at his residence and sought support of the BJD on the issue.
As per the reports, the DMK delegation requested the BJD supremo to make his party a part of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the Centre’s proposal for redrawing of constituencies solely on the basis of population.
The BJD has agreed to take part in the deliberations on the delimitation issue in Chennai on March 22.
During the meeting, Naveen Patnaik had also made meaningful discussion with the DMK leaders on contemporary politics and several issues of national interest.
