LAKE BALBOA — Two women were struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Lake Balboa on Monday night.
Firefighters responded to the 17000 block of Roscoe Boulevard, near Balboa Boulevard, around 6:12 p.m. to reports of a train collision involving two pedestrians, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Both victims were examined and pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear what led up to the two women being struck by the train, and the Los Angeles Police Department continued an investigation into the collision Monday evening.
The names of the two women were being withheld pending notification of relatives.
