THE Dallas Cowboys are being forced into a massive contract decision after Myles Garrett signed his mega deal.
After the Cleveland Browns signed Garrett to a massive new contract averaging $40 million per season, the Dallas Cowboys have a big decision to make regarding Micah Parsons.
Garrett is without a doubt one of, if not the best defensive player in the NFL.
He originally put in a trade request with the Browns, but the team was able to keep him in Cleveland with $123 million in guaranteed money.
While Garrett is one of the best in the league, Parsons is right there with him as one of the NFL’s best defenders.
In just four seasons, Parsons already has 52.5 sacks and 256 tackles.
He is a four-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-pro, and a former Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Garrett has been in the NFL for double the amount of time as Parsons and currently has 102.5 sacks and 352 tackles.
If Parson keeps up his current pace he will smash those numbers as his career goes on.
Parsons is going to be owed a massive contract too, and 2025 is the last year of his rookie deal.
After this upcoming season he will either have a new contract from the Cowboys or he will hit the open market.
Now that Garrett is making $40 million per season, the Parsons will likely want more than that on his next contract.
However, the Cowboys might not be able to afford paying Parsons $40 million plus per year.
Currently, the team only has $48 million in cap space to spend this year.
They would have to utilize most of that space in order to pay for their top defender.
Dallas also has plenty of other holes they need to plug in free agency outside of giving out extensions.
NFL important dates 2025 season

NFL fans think the Cowboys are going to have to splurge in order to sign Parsons and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Once Garrett got paid, Jones was screwed. Parsons is worth every dollar,” another fan said.
“I’m more than sure they’re gonna trade him. That’s why Jerry doesn’t mind waiting,” a third fan said.
“Cowboys gotta pay Micah Parson 50 mil,” a fourth fan said.
