Emergency services rushed to the neighborhood in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and were met with black smoke filling the skies.
The light aircraft came down in a residential neighborhood, and looked to have landed on top of cars.
Footage posted to social media shows a wreckage burning fiercely in a car park.
The plane’s tail appears to be propped up on a car.
Huge jets of water are aimed at the blaze, as sections of the metalwork disintegrate.
